About the Owners

The owners, Ted, Shona live in a nearby village and as such they are on hand to answer your queries. Additionally they have an outstanding knowledge of the local area, which they are more than happy to share with you. If there is somewhere worth visiting with the children, they’ve been there, and all local restaurants have been tried and tested.

Ted, a retired RAF officer is a qualified archery instructor, mountain guide, and holds a military ski instructor’s certificate. As the leader of the first RAF expedition to summit Mount Everest, and having climbed to the top Everest himself, you will be in safe hands if you would like a guided activity holiday. Villefranche

Although classed as a city, Villefranche is a walled village, comprising only 2 main streets and less than 300 inhabitants. It is one of only a select number of villages which has received the prestigious “Most Beautiful Villages of France” award, and is currently nominated to become a UNESCO world heritage site.
The village occupies a prized location at the confluence of the Cady and Tet Rivers and lies at the base of three mountains, one of these being the sacred mountain of the Catalans, Mount Canigou. more...
